Based in Tunis since January 2004, The Union of Mediterranean Confederations of Enterprises (BUSINESSMED) is a regional professional organisation created thanks to the will, determination and militantism of the federation presidents of the twelve founder members and which aims to show the way to economic integration and social and economic development in the region.

• RECETOX has a status of independent Institute of Masaryk University, Faculty of Science
• RECETOX performs research, development, education and expertise in the field of environmental contamination by toxic compounds with specific focus on persistent organic pollutants (POPs), polar organic compounds, metals and their species, natural toxins (cyanotoxins)
• RECETOX has four closely cooperating divisions (Environmental Chemistry, Ecotoxicology, Risk assessment, Environmental informatics and modelling) and part of the RECETOX are also  National POPs Centre (joint center of the Czech Ministry of Education and Masaryk Universitysecretariat ), Central and Eastern European Centre for Persistent Organic Pollutants (CEEPOPsCTR),nominated by Czech government and the Stockholm Convention secretariat and  National Laboratory for Cyanotoxins (joint Center with the Institute of Botany, Czech Academy of Sciences)
• RECETOX is a constitutive member of project for monitoring of persistent organic pollutants in air MONET.EU and MONET.CZ
• RECETOX as a nominated Central and Eastern European Regional POPs Centre of the Stockholm Convention on POPs finalized the report: Towards the Global Monitoring of POPs Contribution of the MONET Networks (PDF). This Report summarizes results of the ambient air monitoring activities in the Central and Eastern European region (CEEC), Central Asia, Africa and Pacific Islands driven by RECETOX as the nominated Regional Center of the Stockholm Convention for the region of Central and Eastern Europe under the common name of the MONET networks (MONET.EU, MONET.CZ). For many of the participating countries these activities generated first data on the atmospheric levels of POPs. Report represents the contribution of the RECETOX and the Ministry of Environment, Czech Republic to the 4th Conference of Parties of the Stockholm Convention which was held from 04 to 08 May, 2009 in Geneva, Switzerland.

La Agencia Estatal Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) es la mayor institución pública dedicada a la investigación en España y la tercera de Europa. Adscrita al Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación, a través de la Secretaría de Estado de Investigación, su objetivo fundamental es desarrollar y promover investigaciones en beneficio del progreso científico y tecnológico, para lo cual está abierta a la colaboración con entidades españolas y extranjeras. Según su Estatuto (artículo 4), tiene como misión el fomento, coordinación, desarrollo y difusión de la investigación científica y tecnológica, de carácter pluridisciplinar, con el fin de contribuir al avance del conocimiento y al desarrollo económico, social y cultural, así como a la formación de personal y al asesoramiento de entidades públicas y privadas en esta materia.

El CSIC desempeña un papel central en la política científica y tecnológica, ya que abarca desde la investigación básica a la transferencia del conocimiento al sector productivo. El motor de la investigación lo forman sus centros e institutos, distribuidos por todas las comunidades autónomas, y sus más de 12.000 trabajadores, de los cuales más de 3.000 son investigadores en plantilla y otros tantos doctores y científicos en formación. El CSIC cuenta con el 6 por ciento del personal dedicado a la Investigación y el Desarrollo en España, que genera aproximadamente el 20 por ciento de la producción científica nacional. Además, gestiona un conjunto de importantes infraestructuras, la red más completa y extensa de bibliotecas especializadas y cuenta con unidades mixtas de investigación.

CITET is a non government institution under the Ministry of Environment and Land Use Planning. It was established on 25 March 1996 By act of parliament and inaugurated 6 June 1996 by H.E, the President of the Rebuplic. The CITET was set to satisfy the needs of Tunisia and other countries in the Arab-African and Mediterranean region in terms of transferring, adapting and promoting ecological friendly technology. The CITET aims to provide to help in strengthening skills and capacities building in protecting the environment, managing natural resources and mastering environmentally friendly technologies, in accordance with options taken at national level and regional priorities. Sustainable development is at the heart of the CITET's mission. The Center is located in Tunis, close to the Tunis-Carthage international Airport and one of the capital's largest industrial zones. It is close to a number of ministries, technical institutes and universities involved in fields relevant to the CITET's activities: environmental issues and land use planning, agriculture, infrastructure and public works, telecommunications, transport etc.
