POPs in our Life Workshop in Egypt

The CP/RAC organized a raise awareness workshop on POPs in Egypt

The UNEP / MAP Regional Activity Center for Cleaner Production (CP/RAC) organized a raise awareness workshop on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) in the American University of Cairo (Egypt). The “POPs in our Life” workshop took place on 15th November 2011 with the aim to give attendants basic information about some toxic chemicals that are present in our day life.

The first expert Group meeting validates Methodology to select BAT

On November 7th 2011 took place in Seville the first meeting with the experts identified in the project BAT4MED (Best Available Techniques Boosting in the Mediterranean Partner Countries), co-financed with European funds through the Seventh Framework Programme for R & D. The project leader, IAT, hosted a meeting that was key for the validation of the methodology developed for the selection of Best Available Techniques for the Mediterranean Countries involved in the project (MPC).

Medical waste training in Albania

The CP/RAC organized a training on medical waste management in Albania

On 7th November 2011 began a 10-days training on medical waste management hosted in Durres International Hospital (Albania). The training was organized by the UNEP / MAP Regional Activity Center for Cleaner Production (CP/RAC) in collaboration with an undergoing WHO (World Health Organization) project, the trainers Trust Waste Management Limited and the Albanian Ministry of Health.

Alternatives Identification and Assessment Training on Hazardous Chemicals

The UNEP/MAP Regional Activity Centre for Cleaner Production (CP/RAC) is organizing in collaboration with SUBSPORT a training session on "Alternative Identification and Assessment on Hazardous Chemicals" that will be held in Barcelona on 13th December 2011.

The goal of the SUBSPORT project is to develop an internet portal that constitutes a state-of-the-art resource on safer alternatives to the use of hazardous chemicals. In addition, the project aims to create a network of experts and stakeholders who are active in substitution.

Ecodesign course in Malta University

The CP/RAC organized an Ecodesign course at Malta University

A 5-day course in Ecodesign was held from 24th to 28th of October 2011 at University of Malta Valletta Campus. The course, organised by the UNEP / MAP Regional Activity Centre for Cleaner Production (CP/RAC) and the Cleaner Technology Centre of the University of Malta, was designed by academics of the Research Centre of the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB).
