The training course “Towards a better environmental governance in the banking sector in Tunisia : introduction to Green Banking” was held in the framework of the H2020 project in Tunis, Tunisia on 24th and 25th April. The course aimed to familiarize the participants with the concept of "Green Banking" and find answers to current challenges.
Within the framework of the implementation of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs), especially the requirement for monitoring, the Moroccan Department of Environment (DE) in collaboration with the Convention's Regional Activity Center in Barcelona (CP/RAC) and with the financial and scientific support of the Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme (AMAP), organized a workshop for the preparation of a national monitoring program for POPs.
On 15th February 2012, CP/RAC organized a training on substitution of hazardous chemicals in Cairo (Egypt). Around 25 participants from very diverse areas (i.e. academia, chemical industry, government, etc) attended to the training which started with the presentation of the CPRAC and its activities, and followed with the introduction of the Subsport Portal.
The 21st of March, CP/RAC was visited by representatives from the Turkish Ministry of Environtment and Housing. The visit is part of the Twinning Programme, from the EU. This programme is based on the collaboration between one country already member from the EU and an applicant country to develop efficient and modern administration. In this case, the two countries are Spain and Turkey.
