The Regional Activity Centre for Cleaner Production elaborates videos on some of the relevant sectors in the Mediterranean region with the aim of reinforcing the diffusion of the contents of the different studies and works.
The videos cover the main production processes and describe the possible opportunities for pollution prevention at source that may be implemented by the industries in the sector.
The lines of action presented are aimed at the recovery and saving of raw materials and water, the replacement of materials with more environmentally friendly ones, the application of new technologies, the redesign of the process and the application of good environmental housekeeping practices.
Much of this action requires little or no investment, and yet bring considerable advantages for the company, both from an environmental point of view (smaller effluent pollutional load and/or volume, etc.) and a financial one (savings on treatment costs, material purchases, etc.). At the same time, they enable the company to promote other areas, such as risk prevention or improved corporate image.
