Horizon 2020 strengthens capacities on how to reduce Olive Mill Waste in the Mediterranean

As a world leader of olive cultivation and oil production, the Mediterranean has achieved substantial progress towards minimizing the negative environmental impacts of this sector. To showcase best environmental practices in olive mill waste management and related new technologies, while reaffirming the magnitude of the environmental pressure imposed by this activity in the region, the EU funded Horizon 2020 CB/MEP project organised a regional workshop in Greece from 19-21 March 2012.

H2020 introduces the Green Banking Concept in Tunisia

The training course “Towards a better environmental governance in the banking sector in Tunisia : introduction to Green Banking” was held in the framework of the H2020 project in Tunis, Tunisia on 24th and 25th April. The course aimed to familiarize the participants with the concept of "Green Banking" and find answers to current challenges.

Atelier pour la préparation d’un programme national de surveillance des POPs à Rabat (Maroc)

Dans le cadre du suivi de la mise en œuvre des dispositions de la convention de Stockholm sur les Polluants Organiques Persistants (POPs), en particulier l’exigence relative à la surveillance, le Département de l’Environnement du Maroc en collaboration avec le Centre Régional de cette Convention à Barcelone (CAR/PP) et avec l’appui financier de l’AMAP (Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme), a organisé un atelier pour la préparation d’un programme national de surveillance des POPs.

Training on substitution of hazardous chemicals in Cairo

On 15th February 2012, CP/RAC organized a training on substitution of hazardous chemicals in Cairo (Egypt). Around 25 participants from very diverse areas (i.e. academia, chemical industry, government, etc) attended to the training which started with the presentation of the CPRAC and its activities, and followed with the introduction of the Subsport Portal.
