40 professionals from Israel, trained on eco innovation and resource efficiency

On March 25th and 26th, it was held in Tel Aviv, Israel, the National Training “Boosting eco innovation and resource efficiency to go towards a green economy in Israel”. The training gathered more than 40 participants from different public bodies, consulting companies, civil society organizations and academia. The workshop aimed to provide new elements for the preparation of the Green Growth action plan, it focused on eco innovation and resource efficiency to advance towards a greener economy.


Whether the interaction of the different speakers was really high, the last session of the training was structured in working groups in order to give also participants the chance to discuss how to integrate better resource efficiency and eco-innovation in the Green Growth action plan.


Israel signed the OECD Green Growth Declaration in 2009 and thus decided to draft a green growth national plan to be implemented during the period 2012-2020. Several round tables have already been organized in order to give some inputs to the 3 major areas of the action plan: green innovation, green production and green consumption.


The green growth action plan is promoted by the Environmental Protection Ministry and the Industry, Trade and Labour Ministry; it will be presented for approval on the end of  May 2012.
