El Centre d'Activitat Regional per a la Producció Neta (CAR/PN) organitza un taller sobre Contaminants Orgànics Persistents (COPs) que se celebrarà a la Universitat de Malta el 6 de desembre de 2011.

L'objectiu del taller és donar als estudiants i joves informació general bàsica sobre alguns productes químics tòxics que estan presents en la nostra vida quotidiana. Es mostrarà als participants quins són aquests productes químics, com poden afectar la nostra salut i al medi ambient i amb quines solucions comptem per reduir al mínim la seva presència en el nostre entorn.

A joint workshop with regional centres/offices under the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions and UNEP regional Offices will be organized from 27th September until 1st October.

The CP/RAC has signed a MoU with the Secretariat of the Stockholm Convention for the joint organization of the workshop which will be held in the premises of the centre.

The CP/RAC participated in the 2nd Workshop for Stockholm Convention Regional and subregional Centres.

The meeting was organized by the Secretariat of the Convention and it was held in Geneva during 28 September 2nd October 2009. Representatives from all the centres were present at the meeting and there were two different modules:

- A general module dealing with the following uo of the COP decissions on the technical assistance and capacity buiding.

During the last Conference of the Parties of the Stockholm Convention, it was approved the decission of including the nine new chemicals in the Convention.

Parties are now requested to review their National Implementation Plans and update it when appropiate according with the ammendments of the annexes.
