Cleaner Technologies in the agro-food sector in Bosnia-Herzegovina

10th May 2012

In the framework of the Horizon 2020 Project, it was held in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, the training course “Cleaner Technologies: application in the agro-food sector” on April 24th and 25th.

This two-day workshop gave to the 30 participants an introduction to cleaner technologies as an opportunity to enhance productivity and production efficiency. This way, raw materials and energy consumption are reduced, as well as waste generation, which means a reduction of the associated cost to production, making companies more competitive.

During the course, the most recent European law and the new standards and regulation were tackled in relation to the current situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina. An introduction to concepts and principles of Cleaner Technologies and its relation wit Cleaner Production and Best Available Techniques was given.

The training was completed by a presentation of various practical cases and with the visit to a company.
