Conclusions of the Global Eco Forum 2011

The Global Eco Forum 2011 has closed its fourth edition to currently become one of the most interesting global dialogues on sustainability in the euromediterranean region. This edition has covered widely the expectations of the organizers, collaborators and participants thanks to the quality of presentations, the noted number of attendees and the high level of participants in workshops and roundtables.

During the dynamic Interaction of the different sessions, participants agreed on the importance of creating incentives to encourage new entrepreneurs to develop new market opportunities and green jobs.  The need to undertake passionately projects focused on the shift of paradigm was also brougth out. Speakers stressed also the interest of building bridges of dialogue and partnership between providers and ecoentrepeneurs to go forward together with an aligned business vision based on equity and sustainability.

After the Global Eco Forum 2011 the conclusions of the dialogue sessions about green economy and governance of sustainability has been compiled in a final document that will be joined to the general contributions report of the Green Economy Coalition to be submitted to the United Nations for consideration at the Summit of Rio de Janeiro in 2012.

Over 350 people attended in person and virtually to the fourth edition of the Global Eco Forum in Barcelona, consolidating its international focus and its participatory and innovative program.
