Second Workshop on GPP at the University of Malta

24th January 2013 | Updated: 5th June 2014

The Workshop held at the Valletta Campus on the 17th of January, aimed to present the draft versions of the Green Public Procurement (GPP) Policy and the GPP Action Plan and, at the same time, to train the whole University Procurement Directorate Staff on GPP. This second Workshop gives continuity to the project "Implementation of a GPP Strategy at the University of Malta", within which a first Workshop took already place in October 2012, where close work was developed together with the 4 most relevant Procurement Directorate members.

The training sessions covered not only awareness raising on GPP and the description of the project itself, but also relevant and GPP related topics such as information sources, eco-labelling schemes and Life Cycle Approach.

Furthermore, the training sessions counted on the valuable collaboration of a representative from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Environment. The context of Malta was presented within the EU framework and the National Action Plan (in force from January 2012) and it was explained describing the goals to be reached within the following years. The University of Malta wants to work towards the fulfilment of the goals for the most relevant product/service groups.
