The fourth edition of the Sustainable Foods Summit will take place in Amsterdam at the end of June

7th June 2011 | Updated: 13th July 2011

The European edition of the Sustainable Foods Summit will take place in Amsterdam on 23-24th June 2011. The event hones in on two major aspects of sustainability in the food industry: carbon footprint reduction and the use of sustainable ingredients.

The aim of the Sustainable Foods Summit is to explore new horizons for eco-labels and sustainability in the food industry by discussing key industry issues. What impact do organic, fair trade and other eco-labels have on sustainability? Will there ever be a single sustainability standard for food products? How can sustainability performance be measured? Case studies will be given of organisations at the cutting edge of implementing such sustainability initiatives.

The summit will bring together key stake-holders in the food industry that include food manufacturers, ingredient & raw material suppliers, retailers & distributors, industry organisations & certification agencies, researchers & academics, investors, etc.

The event is organized by Organic Monitor: www.organicmonitor.com
